Strategy meets
scientific curiosity.
This is a portfolio website for my professional projects. If you're a coaching student trying to book with me, please contact me directly on Discord!
My name is Sebastian Lashmet. I'm currently a mathematics sophomore at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and also an AI researcher and professional Pokémon Trading Card Game player.
My professors have described me as "intellectually distracted," which can be both good and bad. Ultimately, it means that my interests lie less in a particular subject area (physics, finance, chemistry...) and more in the way that these problems are fundamentally mathematically structured. For example, you might see me modeling an economics problem in my spare time after attending a group meeting for a team that works in materials science; I don't see myself specializing in either of those areas my whole life, but I will always find myself fascinated by the problem-solving challenge itself.
This website is a short portfolio of a couple of my projects, plus some exposition for non-Pokémon-people as to what I mean when I say I play professionally.
Four areas of work. Select one to explore.
